I would love to find guys that either just want to jam or maybe take it to the next level and play out. I myself have only played a few gigs just charity functions, backyard picnic's and such. I am very committed to playing and learning as much as possible. I've been going to some open jam nights here in town since last spring. I am no guitar wiz or anything, but can play alot of songs and know enough music theory and scales to get buy.

So if you play drums, bass, keys, or guitar and would like to get together and have some fun with no pressure please respond. If nothing else I just want to play with people who have a passion for music and are easy to get along with. I do have a decent jam room with a 5-piece drum set and a PA for vocals to play as much we would like.

I want to be serious in getting songs together and play localy, im not looking to be a rock star but i don't mind acting like one. Im a big fan of metal and stoner rock, i listen to everything i appreciate all kinds of music. I used to be in a post-hardcore band called phatso who had a single on tooth and nail records, we played with zao and p.o.d. so what doesnt mean anything, just saying i have some experience but that was a decade ago. I've played in a math-rock band, im sure many of you are like what the hell is that? i'll tell you later. I played in 311 type band that i fronted, i rapped sang and played guitar. Let me say this, i hate rap-rock, but i loved 311 and only listened to that, but there can truly only be one 311. I grew up listening to death metal, i loved obituary, death, carcass, megadeth, metallica. I also played in shoegazer, noise, pretty bands, like radiohead, explosions in the sky, sunny day real estate. I mean it man i am well rounded. I like emotional stuff like indie rock that gets heavy; example: jesu. seriously who have to hear to get the picture. I absolutly love that genre of things and i dig stoner metal example: floor, torche, the sword, electric wizzard, Godflesh (the even mix dance with heavy, synth, drum machine).
i like some mainstream stuff like Avenged sevenfold, senses fail. Not too much though cause the mainstream is so saturated with lots of bands and music so it has to tickle my ear for me to listen. So like i say im really into stoner and metal and emotional elements, but im down for what ever as long as its good songs. Im no guitar virtuoso and im a really nice guy and easy to get along with. I have no attitude or ego. As for what I'm looking to start, I'd like to primarily focus on instrumental post-rock/post-metal... i.e. Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Isis, Neurosis, Boris, Fantomas, Melvins etc... without falling into a cliche regurgitation of any of these bands. I believe in music without limitations, and though these are some of my main influences I listen to and play pretty much everything and I'm not opposed to taking the music in a different direction if thats what comes out. I'd like to formulate basic song structures over which extended improvisations can occur, so if you can't hold down a jam, I might not be your guy.

I use a variety of psychedelic effects and I have a preference for guitarists who do as well. Dynamic contrast is a crucial component of the music that I make.

I'm looking for at least one guitarist and a drummer to start things off. Any other instrument is welcome as well. I'll jam with anyone once... no one will be turned down because of age, gender, race, etc.. but the people I'm looking for to start a project with should be self motivated, have their own equipment, have reliable transportation, and willing and able to devote at least one night a week to rehearsal. 420 friendly is a plus, but in no way required. Open minded individuals only.
